Duveroth - the rooted dove - a name and a brand

Updated: Jan 24

Duveroth - more than a name

Duveroth isn't just my last name. It's the essence of what I hold space for - an inner journey home to what has always been whole.

The name awakened in me during a meditation in 2008. I stood at a turning point, newly divorced and ready for something completely different. I listened. The name came. I took it.

A merging of dove and root

Duveroth unites two words: dove and root.

The dove - freedom, peace, purity. A soul that flies high, overcomes obstacles, always finds home.

The root - your true origin. The deep core that gives strength and direction.

When the name came, I didn't know what journey awaited. To fly without limits, you must first be completely rooted - within yourself. That was my path. To become the dove that always returns home.

A metaphor for life's journey

The deeper you find your innermost root, the more forces open up that free you from fear and let you fly higher.

The opposites - the earthly and the heavenly, the inner and the outer - dance with each other. In this interplay you find the balance between being deeply rooted and simultaneously reaching for infinite heights.

Duveroth is both my identity and a mirror for the journey toward freedom and inner peace.

The dove's visit - a symbol of freedom

Several years later, a small dove appeared. It came into my life, let itself be photographed, set its claws in my skin to balance on my shoulder as I moved.

A reminder of the delicate balance between holding on and letting go. The dove kept its freedom intact. After a week, it chose to fly onward. But it left memories and a deeper connection to the Duveroth spirit.

The photographs capture the moments we shared. A free spirit that visits our lives for a moment, but leaves deep traces.

"Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal." - Martin Luther King Jr
